The International Horsemanship Association is pleased to offer recommendation and certification programs to recognize the skills and expertise of relationship-based Instructors, Trainers, Facilities, and Practitioners all over the world.

Instructor & Trainer Certification

Instructors and Trainers certified by the International Horsemanship Association will be able to become certified in skill areas of interest. To qualify, individuals must display a minimum degree of skill in the Ground Skills skill set as well as any additional skill sets that they are interested in.

Applicants will be required to:

  • Reach a minimum level of skill in category that they want to teach
  • Provide proof of CPR certification
  • Provide proof of $1,000,000 Professional Liability Insurance
  • Provide proof of Helmet Acknowledgement and Fitting Certification
  • Have three or more students who have reached a minimum level in the Grades of Horsemanship Pathway.
The certification process can be completed from the comfort of your own barn. No travel is required.

Facility Certification

With your support, the International Horsemanship Association will be offering Facility certification in 2019.

Facilities will be certified based on several factors, including:

  • The quality of horse care including feeding schedule, quality of feed, regular horse health programs, condition and cleanliness of stabling and pasture area, and happiness and playtime for horses
  • Training and riding facilities including arenas, trails, pastures, courses, and obstacles
  • Grooming and tack areas for boarders
  • Quality of instructors and trainers available to boarders and students
  • Emotional environment offered by owners and staff
  • Knowledge of horse husbandry
  • Qualifications of the staff
  • Events and clinics hosted at the facility that encourage relationship-based horsemanship
  • Clients of certified facilities will be able to review facilities based on these factors. Ratings will be published online to help other members make informed decisions about choosing a facility for themselves and for their horses.

Professional Benefits

 

Instructor/Trainer

$350.00 USD

Instructors and Trainers are not only good with horses, but are also passionate about helping others with a relationship-based perspective.

All Hard Copy Membership benefits, plus:
 
  • Access to the International Horsemanship Association certification process
    Certification will be available in each skill set after completing specific requirements. Instructors and trainers can become certified or recommended in one or multiple skill sets.

  • Create and sell online educational content
    Host online horsemanship courses and other distance education services via our Learning Management System.

  • Publish professional rating on promotional materials
    Use the IHA Certified Professionals logo and your IHA Rating on your personal website, social pages, or other marketing material.

  • Business listing on our website and in the IHA Magazine
    Be listed on the website and in our magazine with detailed contact information, photos, videos, and additional links.
  • 10% commission on member referrals
    Receive a 10% commission on the membership fee of all referred students.


  • Submit educational articles
    Qualified instructors will have the opportunity to write articles to educate other members. This is an amazing opportunity to show potential students and clients your training or teaching style and advertise your unique skills or highlight a concept that you believe to be foundational or spectacular.


  • Invitation to perform at conferences
    Perform or present at conferences or equine events all over the world while representing the International Horsemanship Association. The selection process will be made by application to the conference committee.

 

 

Facility

$450.00 USD

Equine boarding facilities practice responsible and safe horse husbandry and promote a positive environment for clients, all with a relationship-based focus.

All Hard Copy Membership benefits, plus:
 
  • Access to the International Horsemanship Association Horse Husbandry certification process
    Show other members that you are well informed about general horse care, health, and nutrition to promote yourself or your business.

  • Publish professional rating on promotional materials
    Use the IHA Certified Professionals logo and your IHA Rating on your personal website, social pages, or other marketing material.

  • Business listing on our website and in the IHA Magazine
    Be listed on the website and in our magazine with detailed contact information, photos, videos, and additional links.
  • 10% commission on member referrals

Practitioner

Practitioners are certified or experienced in equine health and wellness practices including hoof trimming, dentistry, bodywork, alternative therapies, and more.

All Hard Copy Membership benefits, plus:
 
  • Access to the International Horsemanship Association certification process
    Certified by the IHA, benefit from additional credentials as a practitioner with a relationship-based horsemanship foundation.

  • Create and sell online educational content
    Host online courses and other distance education services via our Learning Management System.

  • Publish professional rating on promotional materials
    Use the IHA Certified Professionals logo and your IHA Rating on your personal website, social pages, or other marketing material.

  • Business listing on our website and in the IHA Magazine
    Be listed on the website and in our magazine with detailed contact information, photos, videos, and additional links.
